Additional information

The "Good Queen Anne" piece is one of several ultra-high-relief kilo gold issues Niue commissioned around 2010–2011 through the New Zealand Mint, targeting the collector bullion market that had expanded sharply after the 2008 financial crisis drove renewed institutional and private interest in large-format gold. Queen Anne ruled from 1702 to 1714; her reign saw the Acts of Union joining England and Scotland into Great Britain in 1707, a constitutional shift that still defines the British state today.

Niue's authority to issue legal tender under New Zealand's oversight has made it a preferred licensing jurisdiction for exactly this kind of prestige numismatic product.
