Obverse description Central device comprising a stylized depiction of the Kurdish mountain range with a radiant sun rising above the peaks, all contained within a raised inner circle against a mirror-polished field. The upper legend in Arabic/Sorani script reads 'دولتی کوردستان', flanking the central motif at left and right are the dates '١٤٢٧' (AH) and '2006' (AD) respectively, and the lower legend in Latin script reads 'DEWLETA KURDISTANÊ' along the lower rim.

Reverse description A finely detailed effigy of a perched Merlin falcon (Falco columbarius) occupying the right side of the central field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background. To the left of the bird appear the denomination inscriptions 'Dinar', '10000', and 'دينار' in three lines. The Latin binomial legend 'Falco columbarius' is inscribed along the upper inner border. The central device is framed by an ornate decorative border of interlocking floral and vine motifs in the Islamic artistic tradition.
