| Obverse description | Printed in black on pale paper with an overall fine guilloche dot underprint, the note is divided into a narrow left panel and a wider main field. The left panel, framed by a ruled border, carries the validity inscription in vertical orientation. The main field is headed by the issuer's name in Gothic blackletter type, with the denomination '10 Milliarden Mark' set in large display script at centre, flanked by two circular official seals — that of the Stadtkreis Aachen to the left and the Landkreis Aachen to the right — over a faint watermark-style vignette. The issue date 'Aachen, den 12. Oktober 1923' appears in the lower half, above the series designation and serial number printed in red, with two manuscript facsimile signatures of authorising officials below. |
