| Obverse description | Centrally placed Polish state eagle displayed with wings spread, head turned to the right, rendered in bold relief against a plain field. The eagle is depicted without a crown, consistent with the post-war People's Republic coinage design. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 1949 appears in the lower field flanked by small dots.
