Obverse description Centrally placed Polish state eagle displayed with wings spread, head turned to the right, rendered in bold relief against a plain field. The eagle is depicted without a crown, consistent with the post-war People's Republic coinage design. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 1949 appears in the lower field flanked by small dots. The rim features a decorative scalloped or beaded border.

Reverse description The numeral 1 dominates the central field in large, bold relief, with the currency abbreviation ZŁ immediately below, together denoting the denomination of one złoty. The central motif is flanked by two symmetrical olive or laurel branches curving inward and joining at the base to form a wreath. The trial designation PRÓBA appears in small letters to the upper right of the field, near the rim. The reverse rim mirrors the scalloped beaded border of the obverse.
