Additional information

Poland's postwar monetary reforms produced a string of trial strikes in the late 1950s as the authorities tested alternative compositions for everyday coinage. This brass trial for the 1 Złoty was never adopted — aluminum won out for the circulating type, keeping production costs aligned with Soviet-bloc economic directives. The brass version remained a pattern curiosity, produced in extremely limited numbers for internal evaluation and almost certainly never distributed beyond mint administration.
