Obverse description Central device depicts the Polish crowned white eagle displayed, with wings spread and head turned to the right, rendered in the socialist-era style without the crown on its head, as used during the People's Republic period. The eagle stands with talons visible and detailed feather work across the wings and body. The circular legend around the periphery reads 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA', interrupted at the base by the mint year '1989' flanked by two raised dots. The mint mark 'MW' (Mennica Warszawska) appears in the lower field.
