Obverse description Central shield bearing the electoral sword of Saxony, surmounted by a crested helm with elaborate foliate mantling radiating to left and right. The charge on the escutcheon is rendered in bold relief consistent with late-15th-century Saxon heraldic convention. A circular Latin legend in uncial characters runs along the inner border of the coin.

Reverse description Quartered shield displaying the arms of Saxony and Hungary, surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by foliate mantling. The escutcheon is centrally placed within a beaded inner border, with a circular Latin legend in uncial characters occupying the outer field. The date 1496 appears integrated into the legend. The heraldic composition reflects the joint coinage of the three Saxon rulers Frederick III, John, and Albert.
