Reverse description Crowned Saxon coat-of-arms in the central field, quartered with the barry of Saxony and crossed swords, surmounted by a crested helmet with flowing mantling in the late Gothic tradition. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, separated by annulet stops, reading GROSSVS nOVVS DVEVm SAX, identifying this as a new groschen of the Dukes of Saxony. The overall reverse composition closely mirrors the obverse in style, consistent with the Zinsgroschen coinage of the Freiberg mint.
