Obverse description Imitation of the Venetian ducat (zecchino) type. Standing figure of St. Mark on the left presents a banner-staff to a kneeling doge on the right, both rendered in the Venetian Gothic style. The figures are depicted in high relief with linear drapery folds. A border of dots or beading frames the scene, with a partially legible Arabic or pseudo-Latin legend in the field around the perimeter.
