| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cruciform pattern, reading top to bottom and right to left, flanking a pair of Manchu script characters at centre. An outer ring of Chinese ideograms denoting the provincial authority, reign title, denomination, and weight standard encircles the central arrangement. The legends collectively identify the issuing province of Szechuan, the Xuantong reign era, and the monetary value of seven mace and two candareens. The inscription is rendered in crisp, recessed relief against a flat field, consistent with machine-struck provincial coinage of the late Qing dynasty. |
