| Reverse description | The reverse displays a sinuous five-clawed Imperial dragon in high relief, coiling dynamically amid stylised clouds and flames, with its horned head facing forward at centre and clutching a flaming pearl beneath its body. The dragon's scaled body wraps across the entire field in a vigorous, three-dimensional rendering characteristic of late Qing provincial coinage. The Latin legend YUN-NAN-PROVINCE arcs across the upper periphery outside a beaded inner circle, while 7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS inscribes the lower arc. Four small floral rosettes ornament the outer field at the intercardinal positions between the beaded border and the reeded rim. |
