Obverse description Central field features a wave-patterned oval cartouche bearing the large denomination characters 壹圓 (One Yuan) in raised relief. Surrounding the cartouche, the full legend reads 中華民國十八年 (Republic of China Year 18) above and 東三省 (Three Eastern Provinces) below, all in Chinese characters. Two stylized floral sprigs, one to each side, flank the central device within the legend. The entire design is enclosed by a beaded border following the coin's circumference.
