Obverse description Central field features the reign title legend '光緒元寶' (Guangxu Yuanbao) arranged vertically, flanked by Manchu script reading 'ᠪᠠᡩᠠᡵᠠᠩᡤᠠ ᡩᠣᡵᠣ' (Badarangga Doro) and 'ᠶᡠᠸᠠᠨ ᠪᠣᠣ' (Yuan Boo) at the center. The upper arc of the inner circle bears the Chinese legend '江南省造' (Made in Kiangnan Province), while the lower arc reads '庫平七錢二分' (Kuping 7 Mace and 2 Candareens), denoting the official weight standard. Four decorative six-pointed stars punctuate the cardinal points of the inner beaded circle, with an outer ornamental scroll border enclosing the entire design. The coin displays attractive iridescent toning consistent with a copper pattern strike.

Reverse description Central device depicts a coiled five-clawed Imperial dragon in high relief, rendered in the classic Qing dynasty style, grasping a flaming pearl beneath its body and facing the viewer with a fierce frontal visage. The dragon's sinuous body, detailed scales, and billowing flames are rendered with exceptional die craftsmanship typical of late 19th-century Chinese pattern coinage. The circumferential Latin legend 'KIANG NAN PROVINCE' arcs across the upper field, while '7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS' occupies the lower arc, both separated by small six-pointed star stops. The design is enclosed within a chain-link inner border and an outer reeded or rope-twist rim, exhibiting vivid multicolored toning characteristic of a copper proof-style pattern.
