| Obverse description | Central yin-yang symbol enclosed within a double ring, flanked by four Chinese ideograms arranged in cardinal positions. A further series of Chinese characters forming the full legend surrounds the outer ring, reading top to bottom and right to left. The inscription records the province of issue, the reign title of the Guangxu Emperor, the cyclical year designation, and the denomination expressed in mace and candareens. |
