Obverse description Portrait of Sun Yat-sen in an oval frame at right, printed in red on a rose-red underprint with intricate guilloche patterns and floral ornaments. The large denomination character 圓壹 (One Yuan) appears in a central medallion, flanked by the bank title 行銀央中 and the issue designation 券元銀 at top. Serial numbers and the place of issue 重慶 (Chungking) are printed in red at left and right margins.

Reverse description Central vignette of a three-masted junk under sail, set within a large circular medallion surrounded by elaborate guilloche and floral scrollwork, all printed in red. The denomination ONE SILVER DOLLAR appears in rectangular panels at left and right, each framed by ornate borders. The issuer's title and promise-to-pay clause are inscribed at top, with CHUNGKING appearing twice in the lower field and the date 1949 at the foot.
