| Obverse description | At left centre, a large intaglio vignette of an ancient Chinese bronze ritual cauldron (ding), set within a multicolour guilloche underprint of interlocking scrollwork in purple and orange. The denomination 壹圓 is inscribed on the vessel's body. At right, an oval intaglio portrait of Sun Yat-sen faces three-quarters left, framed by fine engine-turned latticework. The border is composed of repeating geometric medallions and traditional key-fret ornaments in red, with the bank title 中央銀行 across the top. |
