| Obverse description | The central intaglio vignette, printed in dark rose-brown, portrays Liang Jun — China's celebrated pioneer female tractor driver — at the wheel of a tractor set against a rural landscape underprint. The bank title 中國人民銀行 runs across the top centre in Chinese characters, flanked at upper left by minority-script inscriptions in Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, and Zhuang; denomination cartouches bearing 壹圓 and the numeral 1 appear at upper right and lower right respectively. YI YUAN is set within a guilloche panel at lower left, with the date 1960 integrated into the ornamental floral arabesque border along the base. |
