Reverse description The central device consists of a bold numeral '1' above the Latin legend 'YEN', enclosed within a raised circular ring set against a recessed inner field. The upper portion of the reverse carries the legend 日本國 (Nihon-koku, 'State of Japan') in kanji, arranged in an arc along the upper field and flanked by two raised dots at mid-left and mid-right. The lower field bears the regnal date inscription 昭和二十四年 (Shōwa nijūyo-nen, 'Year 24 of the Shōwa era') arranged along the bottom arc. The composition integrates both Chinese-script and Latin characters within a bold, functionalist layout.
