| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre depicts a standing ancient Greek or Roman column rising above a field of scattered architectural ruins and stone fragments, evoking the archaeological heritage of Cyprus. The brass outer ring is decorated with twelve evenly spaced fleur-de-lis ornaments arranged around the full circumference.
