| Obverse description | The copper-nickel center features a detailed depiction of a neoclassical rotunda building, flanked by trees, rendered in fine relief against a plain field. The date 2010 appears in the lower exergue of the center disk. Arching across the upper portion of the center, the trilingual legend ESSAI · PATTERN · PROBE designates the piece as a trial striking in French, English, and German respectively. The brass outer ring is adorned with a continuous circle of twelve raised five-pointed stars, referencing the European tradition of coinage design. |
