Obverse description The obverse features the state emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea centrally positioned in the field, depicting a hydroelectric power station and a radiant five-pointed star above a mountain landscape, flanked by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon, and inscribed with the state name in Korean within a scroll at the base. The circular legend reads in Korean characters along the upper periphery, identifying the Central Bank of the DPRK, with two five-pointed stars serving as dividers.
