Obverse description The state emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting Mount Paektu with a radiant five-pointed star above, flanked by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon at the base and a hydroelectric dam in the middle ground. The emblem is encircled by a wreathed border of laurel branches at the lower periphery.
