Additional information

Issued to mark the 92nd birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung, this brass commemorative belongs to a wave of DPRK collector issues produced almost entirely for the hard-currency export market — pieces like this rarely if ever entered domestic circulation, where the North Korean won economy operated under strict state rationing rather than open exchange. The Central Bank produced them in limited quantities for sale through overseas dealers, primarily in China and Europe, as a foreign exchange mechanism.

KM#335 is one of several denominated pieces from the same 2004 release cycle, all sharing the 45mm brass format.
