| Obverse description | The National Coat of Arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting Mount Paektu within a radiant star above a landscape of fields and a hydroelectric dam, all encircled by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon. The country name legend '조선민주주의인민공화국' (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) arcs along the upper periphery in Hangul script.
