Obverse description Central heraldic shield bearing the rampant lion of Jülich, set within a trilobe frame whose upper lobe displays a small lion as mintmark. Decorative foliate elements fill the spandrels between the trilobe lobes. The entire central device is surrounded by a circular legend in Gothic uncial script. The hammered flan gives the coin a characteristic irregular, slightly concave appearance typical of late 14th-century Rhenish silver coinage.
Obverse script Latin (uncial)

Reverse description A floriated cross divides the reverse field into four quadrants, with a small heraldic shield bearing an eagle at the center of the cross. A standing or displayed eagle appears above the cross at the top of the inner field. The surrounding circular legend in Gothic uncial script identifies the mint and the nature of the issue. The overall composition is characteristic of the Weißpfennig coinage produced at Düren under Duke Wilhelm III of Jülich.
