Reverse description The reverse presents a facing imperial eagle with spread wings, rendered in the bold, somewhat schematic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century Tyrolean hammered coinage. The eagle occupies the central field, its plumage indicated by incised lines. The circumscriptional Latin legend * COMES * TIROL (Count of Tyrol) encircles the design along the outer rim. The irregular flan edge and variable strike pressure, both hallmarks of hand-hammered technique, are evident across the surface.
