| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Francis Joseph I facing right, with a finely detailed laurel wreath bound by a ribbon at the nape, short sideburns and moustache rendered in high relief. The effigy is engraved in the classical academic style by Josef Daniel Böhm. The encircling legend reads FRANZ JOSEPH I · V · G · G · KAISER V · OESTERREICH, separated by dots, running along the inner border of a raised beaded rim. The mint mark A appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. |

The eagle bears on its breast an elaborate quartered shield of the Habsburg arms. The surrounding legend, separated by the eagle's wings, reads EIN VEREINSTHALER to the left and XXX EIN PFUND FEIN to the right, all within a raised beaded border. The date appears in the lower exergual field beneath the eagle's tail feathers. |
