| Obverse description | The Venezuelan national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield with a horse passant in the lower quarter, sheaves of wheat in the upper left, and weapons and flags in the upper right, surmounted by an elaborate cornucopia and tropical foliage. The shield is flanked by an olive branch to the left and a palm frond to the right, with crossed lances and a ribbon below bearing the patriotic mottoes. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA arcs along the upper periphery, interrupted by five-pointed stars at each side. The lower exergue bears the metrology and fineness inscription GRAM. 25 * 1876 * LEI 900, flanked by stars, within a beaded border. |
