Obverse description Four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion around a central square perforation, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left in the traditional manner: 太平通寶 (Thai Binh Thong Bao). The characters are rendered in a somewhat crude, archaic style consistent with rebel-issue casting, set within a broad flat field bounded by a raised outer rim. The coin exhibits a rough, granular surface texture characteristic of hand-cast production, with areas of brown and green patination throughout.

Reverse description The reverse presents an entirely plain, uninscribed field surrounding the central square perforation, devoid of any characters, symbols, or decorative elements. No inner or outer rim is present, and the surface displays a heavily pitted, granular texture with patches of green verdigris and brown patination, consistent with the crude cast production methods employed during this short-lived rebel issue.
