Obverse description Central square hole surrounded by a raised square rim, with four Chinese characters arranged in the four cardinal positions around the central perforation, read in the traditional sequence top, right, bottom, left. The four-character reign inscription 政和通寶 (Chính Hòa Thông Bảo) is rendered in regular script (kaishu), each character occupying one quadrant of the field between the inner square rim and the outer raised border. The coin exhibits a flat, unadorned field typical of Vietnamese cast cash coinage.
