| Reverse description | Central solar or lotus wheel motif with radiating spokes or petals emanating from a central boss, filling the entire field. The wheel design is surrounded by a border of pellets or beaded dots arranged along the periphery of the irregular flan. This sun or chakra symbol is a hallmark of early Pallava coinage and carries dynastic and religious significance. The design is executed in low relief typical of hammered potin issues. The reverse shows well-defined radiating lines despite the crude striking technique. |
