Obverse description Janiform effigy of the Etruscan deity Culsan depicted as a double-headed bust, each face rendered in archaic Etruscan style and surmounted by a broad-brimmed petasos. The two confronted profiles are modelled in low relief, characteristic of the Volaterran cast bronze series. The treatment of the facial features and headgear reflects the indigenous Etruscan artistic tradition, distinguishing this type from contemporary Roman and Italic coinage.
