Obverse description Plain, slightly convex field bearing a large incuse letter A in Latin script, centrally positioned and boldly rendered, serving as the value mark for this Etruscan aes grave uncia. The flan is irregular and lumpy in form, consistent with the cast production technique characteristic of early central Italian bronze coinage. The surfaces display a heavily granular texture with patches of green and brown patina overlying the original bronze fabric.
