Reverse description Central depiction of a Tours-style fortified castle or châtel tournois, rendered in the established gros tournois tradition, surrounded by an inner linear border bearing a Latin uncial legend. The outer border is composed of a continuous series of fleurs-de-lis, closely imitating the French royal prototype. The castle motif is stylized, consistent with mid-fourteenth-century Rhenish imitative coinage of the tournois type. The overall composition reflects the widespread adoption of Tours imagery by German lordships during this period.
