Obverse description Central field occupied by a large Persian Nasta'liq calligraphic inscription within a beaded inner circle, reading the royal titles and name of Naser al-Din Shah. The legend 'خسرو صاحبقران ناصرالدّین شاه غازی طهران' surrounds and interweaves with the central text. The entire design is framed by a wreath of leafy branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, rendered in high relief against a smooth field. The overall composition is characteristic of Qajar court calligraphic artistry, emphasizing the sovereign's titles over portraiture.
