Obverse description Uniformed bust of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh Qājār in three-quarter left-facing effigy, wearing a distinctive tall lambskin Qajar crown adorned with a jewelled aigrette and plume. The Shah is depicted in full military dress uniform with decorations and epaulettes visible on the shoulders. The AH regnal year ۱۲۶۴ (Jalūs accession year) appears to the left of the portrait and the AH date ۱۳۱۰ to the right, with the Arabic legend ضرب (struck) above right. The portrait is rendered in a detailed, Western-influenced engraving style characteristic of late Qajar coinage.
