Reverse description Central field displaying a multi-line Nasta'liq calligraphic inscription in Arabic script stating the mint name and the Hijri regnal year, arranged in three registers within a plain inner circle. The legend is struck in high relief with dotted diacritical marks and gives the mint as the holy city of Mashhad along with the AH date. The inner circle is enclosed by an outer border of interlaced foliate and floral ornaments consistent with Qajar decorative convention.
