| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a large ornate cartouche containing the royal name and title in flowing Nastaliq calligraphy, enclosed within a beaded border. The cartouche is flanked by decorative foliate scrollwork and further surrounded by a secondary beaded frame. Above and below the central cartouche, stylized floral and vegetal ornaments fill the field in the Qajar artistic tradition. The entire design is contained within a dotted outer border, characteristic of Qajar-era gold coinage. The composition is formal and symmetrical, reflecting the court artistic conventions of Fath Ali Shah's reign. |
