| Obverse description | The obverse bears a two-line royal legend in elegant Nastaliq calligraphy, filling the central field and reading 'Sikka-yi Fath Ali Shah Khusraw Kishwar-Sitan' (the coin of Fath Ali Shah, Caesar the Conqueror of Lands). The inscription is arranged in sweeping diagonal strokes characteristic of the Qajar hammered gold coinage. The field is adorned with small pellet ornaments scattered around the legend. The overall design is entirely epigraphic, with no portrait or figurative imagery, consistent with Islamic artistic tradition. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hand-struck Qajar gold coinage of this period. |
