Reverse description Central field featuring a three-line Persian legend in Nastaliq script, giving the mint name and regnal year: 'Zarb Baldat-i Tayyiba Hamadan' (Struck in the pure city of Hamadan), with the AH date (shown as ۱۲۴۳ on the type, with individual year numerals varying by striking) appearing in the lower portion of the field. The legend is accompanied by delicate floral and foliate ornamental sprays typical of Qajar coinage. The field is encircled by a prominent inner ring of raised beads, itself surrounded by a further beaded outer border.
