Obverse description The obverse field is entirely occupied by a two-line royal legend in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy, rendered in high relief against a finely engraved floral arabesque ground. The upper register bears the name and title of the shah, while the lower register carries his epithet. A horizontal rule separates the two lines of text, and the entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner border surrounded by an elaborate foliate wreath, all characteristic of Qajar dynastic coin design.
