| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a bold, multi-line nastaliq calligraphic legend reading 'al-Sultan ibn al-Sultan Fath Ali Shah Qajar,' rendered in a deeply struck, fluid Persian script characteristic of Qajar gold coinage. The inscription is arranged in three horizontal registers across the flan, with elegant sweeping strokes and diacritical dot clusters embellishing the letterforms. Stylized foliate and floral scroll-work, typical of early nineteenth-century Qajar die engraving, fills the surrounding field between the calligraphic lines and the irregular rim. No border or inner circle is present on this face, allowing the inscription to dominate the entire available surface. The hammered flan produces a slightly irregular outline consistent with hand-struck Qajar gold tumans of this period. |
