| Obverse description | Central field dominated by large bold Nasta'liq calligraphy arranged within a square cartouche subdivided by ruled lines into panels, with floral and foliate arabesque ornaments filling the interstices. The principal legend reads 'Al-'Izza lillah' (Glory belongs to God) in the upper register, with the mint name Rasht (Dar al-Marz Rasht) inscribed below. The entire design is enclosed by a border of raised beads following the irregular flan edge, characteristic of early Qajar hammered gold coinage. |
