| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold nasta'liq calligraphic inscription set within a rectilinear cartouche, rendered in high relief. The legend reads 'al-Mulk lillah' (sovereignty belongs to God) at the top of the cartouche, followed by the mint name Dar al-Saltanah Tehran and the AH date 1212. Floral and foliate arabesques flank the cartouche on either side, and the entire design is enclosed by a prominent raised bead border encircling the coin's periphery. |
