| Reverse description | A stylized cross pattée occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, simplified Lombard manner consistent with eighth-century Italian ecclesiastical coinage. The cross is set within a plain inner circle, beyond which a degenerate and nonsensical pseudo-legend runs continuously around the circumference, composed of repeated meaningless letter-like forms. The border is formed by a beaded or pellet ring. The overall design reflects the progressive degradation of Byzantine reversal types common to Lombard municipal issues of this period. |
