Obverse description Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed imperial bust facing right, rendered in the Byzantine manner. Straight crossed tassels are prominently depicted at the shoulder, a diagnostic feature of this Lombard imitative type. The effigy is executed in a somewhat barbarous style characteristic of early Lombard gold coinage, with the portrait enclosed within a circular Latin legend in the field.

Reverse description Winged Victory standing facing, rendered in the late antique Byzantine tradition, holding wreath and palm branch. A star appears to the right of the figure in the field. The design is enclosed by a circular Latin legend, with the mint and purity mark CONOB occupying the exergue, indicating notional reference to Constantinople gold standards. The execution displays the characteristic stylistic simplification of Lombard imitative coinage.
