Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold, deeply struck diagonal arrangement of stacked pseudo-letters or runic-style strokes, rendered in a degenerate imitation of a Roman imperial legend. The garbled inscription, composed of meaningless letter-like forms, encircles the central motif and fills the field, reflecting the progressive degradation of Roman epigraphic models by Germanic die-cutters. The overall design is crude yet vigorous, characteristic of post-Roman barbarian tremissis coinage of the early 8th century.

Reverse description A bold equal-armed cross with expanded terminals occupies the central field, struck in high relief typical of hammered gold coinage. The cross is surrounded by a continuous circular pseudo-legend of degenerate Latin letter-forms, entirely nonsensical and arranged as an imitation of the surrounding legends found on late Roman and Byzantine tremisses. A plain inner border separates the central cross motif from the surrounding inscription area, and the flan edge is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-cut planchet production.
