| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a bold, densely composed Arabic inscription in the traditional Afghan nasta'liq calligraphic style, characteristic of the Barakzai dynastic coinage. The legend, rendered in high relief, fills the flan in multiple overlapping lines with floral pellet ornaments interspersed between the letterforms. The AH date appears in the lower portion of the field. A rope-style inner border frames the inscription, with a fine toothed rim at the periphery. |
