Reverse description The reverse displays the mint name and Hijri regnal date inscribed in Nasta'liq script within a scalloped or lobed decorative border, a hallmark of Qajar provincial coinage. The central field bears the legend 'Zarb Dar al-Saltana Isfahan' identifying the Isfahan mint, which held the honorific title 'Seat of the Sultanate,' followed by the date 1218 AH (corresponding to 1803 AD). The script is arranged in bold, deeply struck lines that fill the flan, with the date prominently placed in the lower portion of the field. The scalloped border frames the inscriptions with a series of curved lobes, adding a decorative quality typical of Fath Ali Shah's gold coinage. The strike is characteristic of hand-hammered production, resulting in slight irregularities in the coin's shape and relief.
