| Additional information |
The 1986 Mongolian tögrög series was issued under the Mongolian People's Republic to mark the 65th anniversary of the 1921 revolution that ousted Chinese authority and established Soviet-backed rule. Mongolia's coin production during this period depended almost entirely on Soviet technical and material support — aluminium bronze blanks of this specification were consistent with Soviet-era satellite state coinage practice across the Eastern Bloc.
